About The Role

We are seeking a technical and analytically-driven Lead Finance Operations Engineer to join the Zoo team. In this role, you will support our team with various financial and operational processes as we prepare for our next phase of growth. The right candidate will have a background in financial modeling and analysis, an understanding of technology company growth metrics, and strong technical acumen with a keen interest in optimizing business processes through automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Zoo’s financial operations including but not limited to tax filing, bookkeeping, financial planning & analysis, and payroll
  • Build and own financial and operational models to enable strategic decision-making
  • Build and improve business operational processes, leveraging systems and automating workflows where possible 
  • Develop and architect the company’s strategic decision-making operating system, integrating data from all aspects of the business into data-driven strategic insights

What You’ll Need

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Demonstrated experience designing and improving financial processes and systems for a high growth company at scale
  • Excellent financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills
  • Proficient coding skills with an ability to automate or optimize processes through code
  • Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to be scrappy and roll up your sleeves to ensure success
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with a high degree of autonomy 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with C++, Python and/or Rust
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Experience working with open-source projects and collaborating with open-source communities
  • Familiarity with CAD
